COVID-19 Vaccine Has Arrived at ISL!

To our ISL family of Residents, Associates, and their Families ~

I hope you all enjoyed the holidays and found a way to relax, eat some good food and spend time with loved ones (even if it was virtually).  I know that COVID-19 has brought so many challenges this year, and no doubt affected how you celebrated the past couple of weeks. I wanted to share some positive news with you that shows there is definitely light at the end of the tunnel in fighting this virus.

Shavano Park Senior Living in Texas is officially the first ISL community to receive the vaccine! The photo below is of Julie McCarty, the community’s Executive Director, receiving her dose.

We are so excited to be in the first phase of vaccine distribution for our residents and associates. Our incredible support Team worked around the clock to enroll our communities in the program with CVS or Walgreens to ensure the vaccine will be available to our associates and residents at on-site clinics conducted in our community. We expect even more clinics to be scheduled in the coming weeks, and we will be sure to reach out as soon as we have confirmed dates.

I want to take this time to encourage all residents and associates to get the FDA-authorized vaccine when your community is eligible. Learn more about the rigorous testing the vaccines have undergone on the CDC’s website here: cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/8-things.html

This news certainly provides some much-needed hope as we head into 2021!
