Happy Healthy Aging Month from ISL!

September is Healthy Aging Month! Our team members and associates are committed to making sure each of our residents is feeling their very best, all day every day.  

Here are just a few tips to help you age your very best.  

  1. Move your body and try new things!  

Whether you want to do yoga, try a new exercise class or just take a walk, our Vibrant Life program has scheduled daily activities to make it easy to get moving and have fun doing it.  

  1. Eat healthy!  

Our in-house chefs prepare fresh, delicious meals from scratch, so you can trust you are having a healthy, balanced diet. With our Elevate dining program, you won’t have to worry about grocery shopping, cooking or cleaning again.  

  1. Be social!  

This is one of the seven core components of our Vibrant Life program. We think it is important to develop meaningful connections and friendships and celebrate moments in life worth sharing.  

  1. Support your mind!  

Make sure you are taking time for yourself. Want to garden? Watch a movie? Or enjoy a happy hour? Do it! Enjoy independence while knowing care associates are always around to help if you need them.  

  1. Get regular checkups! 

As you get older, it is important not to forget about your regular checkups. Make sure you are making appointments for your eyes, hearing and blood pressure, and stay up to date on immunizations and health screenings. Need help? No worries! Our care associates are more than happy to help with remembering and scheduling these appointments for you.  

  1. Sleep well!  

A good night of rest is important! Nightly medication, nighttime snack, fluffy pillow – whatever you may need for a good night sleep, we will make sure you have it.
